Powdr, the parent company behind Mt. Bachelor ski area, has acquired Human Movement Management, HMM, an event-production company that produces foot races, festivals, triathlons and other outdoor events, Powdr announced recently.

Based in Louisville, Colorado, HMM produces large-scale participatory events such as the Dirty Girl Mud Run, the Rocky Mountain Triathlon, and The Denver Oktoberfest.

“We are uniquely positioned at Powdr to integrate world-class facilities with innovative programming,” Wade Martin, president of Powdr Enterprises, of Park City, Utah, said in a news release. “We are really excited to see what we can do together.”

In addition to Mt. Bachelor, Powdr operates seven other mountain resorts: Copper Mountain Resort in Summit County, Colorado; Killington Resort and Pico Mountain in Killington, Vermont; and Boreal Resort and Soda Springs Resort in Donner Summit, California, Gorgoza Park in Park City, Utah, and Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort near Las Vegas, Nevada.

Powdr sold its holdings at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah in September to Vail Mountain Resorts for $182.5 million, ending a legal dispute that had lasted several years.

Powdr also owns Woodward athletic camps, the Outside Television network and World of Adventure, an adventure sports media company, according to its website.
