Many of the state’s top young amateur golfers will tee off today at the Central Oregon Junior.

An Oregon Junior Golf major championship, the tournament will be held today at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville and finish Tuesday at Juniper Golf Course in Redmond.

The 36-hole stroke-play tournament will host about 180 golfers, many of them from Central Oregon. The golfers compete, ages 8 to 18, in 11 divisions.

Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. each day. Spectators are welcome, admission is free.
