Café Yumm! plans to open a second Bend restaurant in Neff Place, the retail and restaurant development under construction near St. Charles Bend, Compass Commercial Real Estate Services announced Thursday.

Karli Foster opened her first Café Yumm! franchise in the Old Mill District in December 2007, and over the years, she said, the demand has continued to grow.

“I knew when I got involved with Café Yumm! that I wanted to be a multiple-franchise unit,” said Foster, co-owner of the Bend restaurants. “That has always been my dream.”

Based in Eugene, Café Yumm! has 12 locations in Oregon and one in Seattle, according to the company’s website.

Foster said she started looking at locations for a second restaurant in the fall and signed the lease for the 2,000-square-foot space last Friday. The new Café Yumm! is scheduled to open in December. Foster expects to employ 15 to 25 people.

Foster said she chose the location because of its proximity to St Charles, Mountain View High School and other developments.
