Details: After more than four years of operation in Bend, a new building is under construction for SisTech Manufacturing, a company offering electronic manufacturing and mechanical assembly services to high technology companies.

“We’re excited to have our own building for a change,” said Brad Kennedy, vice president of operations for SisTech. “We’ll have plenty of room for a lot more people.”

Kevin Spencer, owner of Empire Construction, said the project started March 1, and the concrete floors are currently being put in. He expects the new building, located near Empire Avenue next to the current SisTech facility, to be completed in the fall.

Spencer said the nearly 22,000-square-foot building, which is about double the size of the current facility, will cost $1.5 million.

Kennedy said he’s currently renting SisTech’s location, and the lease is up next year. With the expansion, he said, there will be more opportunity for growth and to increase the company’s capabilities and employment.

“The plan would be to start moving equipment and ourselves in by the second week of September,” he said.
