- Cascade Lakes Brewing Company Lodge is a place to stop and grab a locally brewed beer or bring the family for an evening meal.
Editor’s note: Things change frequently in the restaurant business, and this article was written more than one year ago. The menu, service, atmosphere and quality may have changed.
The Lodge is a lot more than just a watering hole.
Chris Justema, one of four partners in the Cascade Lakes Brewing Company combined bar and restaurant, describes the westside brew pub as having ”four or five different atmospheres under the same roof.”
The majority of the nonsmoking facility is open to all ages. The bar is adults only, as is the upstairs entertainment area.
”You can come in with your friends and throw darts and have a few pints. You can come in with your 3-year-old daughter and have a birthday party. You can just come in and have a pint of hand-crafted ale and an appetizer. Or you can come in and have a business meeting at lunch in one of our booths.”
With its location at the corner of Chandler Avenue and Century Drive, The Lodge occupies a plot of land along a prime recreational artery. The full menu is offered until 10 p.m. seven days a week, as well.
For those truly on the go, six packs of bottled beers are available at The Lodge, as well as ”growlers”: a gallon of, say, Blonde Bombshell or Monkey Face Porter.
But patrons are encouraged to stay a while, and Justema says he and his partners cultivate a local pub environment. To that end, The Lodge holds Locals Night every Wednesday, replete with specials.
The owners also implemented the Mug Club. Joiners get their own mugs, stowed on a shelf behind the bar, for $30 each. They also get a cold draft for $3 – 50 cents off the usual price.
Membership must be renewed annually. Renewal for current members comes up in December. Newcomers get a chance to join after Jan. 1.
At the brew pub’s other location in Redmond, Justema says the Mug Club ”has people literally lined up at the door, like the opening of a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, to get their mugs at the beginning of every year.”
The Lodge doesn’t serve glazed doughnuts. However, the menu rotates with the seasons, as the restaurant updates the food choices at least four times a year. Justema adds that the beer is a regionally produced seasonal lineup, and as the weather turns warmer, to keep an eye out for what comes next.
