The Central Oregon Great Strides walk begins at 10 a.m. today at Sam Johnson Park in Redmond.
The event is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which works to find a cure for the disease and to improve the quality of life for those who have it.
On-site registration and check-in is at 9 a.m. today and the walk is at 10 a.m. Cost to register is a donation. The 5K walk is on the Dry Canyon Trail.
Cystic fibrosis is an inherited, chronic, life-threatening disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States, according to the foundation. The Great Strides walks are the foundation’s biggest nationwide fundraiser.
