A hunter discovered a body today northeast of Chemult, along with a car belonging to a Bend man reported missing on Sept. 6.

The Klamath County Major Crime Team is investigating the death. The body and a 1989 Toyota Corolla Wagon belonging to 42-year-old Jonathan Sullivan-Shipley were discovered, although Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge would not say whether the body, which has not yet been identified, was found inside the vehicle.

Sullivan-Shipley was last seen on Sept. 5, when he left his home on Marsh Orchid Court in Northeast Bend for work at the High Desert Assisted Living facility. He has not been in contact with family or friends since, according to Bend Police.

An investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement from Klamath County are working with Bend Police. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
