Portland shooting — A male victim was shot in a drive-by shooting at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at North Killingsworth Street and Albina Avenue in North Portland. The Oregonian reports the shooting victim, whose name was unavailable, was taken by private vehicle to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. Police say his injury is not life-threatening.

Power restored — Power was restored to about 1,200 Pacific Power customers in Salem who lost electricity after a driver crashed into a light pole shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday night. Power was restored by Sunday morning. The driver was charged with drunken driving.

Whistle-blower suit — A fired former Eugene deputy police auditor is appealing after a federal judge dismissed part of her whistle-blower lawsuit against the city of Eugene. Dawn Reynolds is asking the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to reinstate her claim that her termination violated her First Amendment right to free speech. Reynolds claims she was fired in retaliation for speaking out on what she saw as misconduct by her replacement and city police.

Girl found safe — A 30-year-old Gresham woman who reported her 6-year-old daughter missing is now facing criminal charges after authorities found the girl hours later safe with her mother. Gresham police say Sara Lea Edmond is in custody on charges including criminal mistreatment, child neglect, custodial interference and filing a false report. Her arraignment is set for Monday.
