LEAGUES

Mondays: The Central Oregon Senior Golf Organization is about to begin a seasonlong series for individual and team best balls. Series is open to men’s club members of host sites. Cost is $150 for the season plus $5 per event. For more information: Ted Carlin at 541-604-4054.

Tuesdays: The Men’s Club at River’s Edge Golf Course in Bend plays weekly tournaments. Members of the men’s club and other interested River’s Edge Golf Club men with an established USGA handicap are invited to participate. For more information or to register, call River’s Edge at 541-389-2828.

CLINICS OR CLASSES

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Golf fitness class at inMotion Training Studio in Bend. Shannon Segerstrom, a Titleist Performance Institute-certified golf fitness instructor, will access and correct muscle imbalances during complex movements and the golf swing using the TPI program and assessment. Course is designed for all ages and abilities. Beginning April 9, the four-week course will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 a.m. Cost is $115 per person. April 10: Golf Performance Lecture on injury prevention for golfers at Awbrey Glen Golf Club in Bend. Chris Cooper, a certified Titleist Performance Institute Fitness physical therapist, and Bend orthopedic surgeon Tim Bollom will discuss how golf mechanics can play a role in injury. The lecture will also offer practical tips to help prevent injury, along with information on current treatment and rehabilitation programs. April 13: Swing into Spring golf clinic at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville are designed to teach beginning golfers fundamentals and seasoned golfers to sharpen their golf skills. The Central Oregon Golf Tour is a competitive golf series held at golf courses throughout Central Oregon. Gross and net competitions open to all amateur golfers of all abilities. April 20: 17th Annual Crook County High School Golf Team Benefit tournament at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Prineville. Four-person scramble tees off with a noon shotgun start. Cost is $280 per team and includes golf, cart tri-tip dinner, awards, contests and gross and net team prizes. Proceeds go toward funding Crook County’s boys and girls golf teams. April 20-21: The Iceberg Open at Crooked River Ranch is a two-person scramble on Saturday and two-person best ball on Sunday. Gross and net divisions along with closest-to-the-pin and long-drive contests. 9 a.m. shotgun both days. Entry fee is $290 per team and includes green fees, lunch, cart, range balls and raffle prizes. Practice round Friday for $39, including cart. April 22: Central Oregon Seniors Golf Organization event at Kah-Nee-Ta High Desert Resort near Warm Springs. The format is individual gross and net best ball, as well as team best ball. Cash prizes awarded at each event. Tournament series is open to men’s club members at host sites, and participants must have an Oregon Golf Association handicap. April 25-28: The Central Oregon Shootout is a two-person team event held at Aspen Lakes Golf Course in Sisters, Black Butte Ranch and Eagle Crest Resort in Redmond. The tournament will feature scramble, best ball and Chapman formats. Cost is $580 per team and includes green fees, carts, range balls, tee gift, continental breakfast and lunch. Deadline to register is April 17 or first 180 teams.
