April 14. 1954 – July 29, 2013
Greg ”Brady” Moothart, 59, passed away peacefully at home in Meridian, Idaho Monday July 29, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Brady was born April 14, 1954, in Oakland, California. Hewas the second of four sons born to Gordon and Dorothy Moothart. In 1968, the family relocated to Corvallis, Oregon, where Brady graduated high school and began his long career in the grocery business.
Brady had an intense love of the outdoors. After living in Redmond, Oregon and enjoying the hunting and fishing opportunities in Central Oregon for six years, he moved to the Nampa / Boise area in 1985 to pursue his passion for bird hunting. During bird season, Brady and his dogs could be found working the beet fields and sagebrush hills in pursuit of pheasants and chukars. He was also an avid fly fisherman and would spend the off-season fishing the area lakes and reservoirs from his float tube. Other fly fishing adventures would include trips to Alaska for salmon, and Central America for tarpon and permit. Bradys passion for the outdoors was contagious. Family and friends commonly accompanied him on his hunting and fishing adventures, and could count on benefiting from his wisdom and insight — if they could keep up.
Brady is survived by his three brothers: Dennis and his wife Sue of Brownsville, Oregon; Brian and his wife Denise of Bend, Oregon; and Steve and his wife Patty of Anchorage, Alaska. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Brady was preceded in death by his parents and by his nephew, Sgt. Travis Moothart.
No services are planned. Bradys ashes will be scattered at a later date in a place he loved the most and always felt at home.
Memorials in Bradys name can be made to the American Cancer Society.
