“300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE”

Rating: R for strong sustained sequences of stylized bloody violence throughout, a sex scene, nudity and some language

What it’s about: More Greeks battle more Persians, this time at sea, in the sequel to “300.”

The kid attractor factor: Blood and guts, and ships bearing Greeks.

Good lessons / bad lessons: “Negotiate with tyranny. Give me one example of when that has ever profited a nation.”

Violence: Gory and almost constant.

Language: A touch of profanity.

Sex: As violent as the sword fights.

Drugs: None.

Parents’ advisory: If they’ve seen “300,” there’s nothing new that they’ll be exposed to here. Very violent, but OK for 13-and-up.
