Redmond’sBig R store sold

Albany-based Coastal Farm & Ranch has purchased the assets of three Oregon Big R Stores in Redmond, Klamath Falls and White City, according to a news release issued Thursday.

The Big R stores will continue to operate under the same name and management and additions to product lines and expansions of service will occur over time, the news release stated.

The three stores, opened by Jack Tyrholm in 1962, were originally called Ranch Wholesale Supply Stores, according to the company’s website. They became Big R Stores in the early 1970s.
