Summit
Gridiron Rib Feed — the second installment of the Gridiron Rib Feed is slated for Aug. 15, which includes a rib cooking contest open to both amateur and professional chefs. Organized by the Westside Athletic Foundation, the event raises money for equipment and safety upgrades for the Storm football team. Volunteers or those interested in attending or offering items for the silent auction are encouraged to visit www.gridironribfeed.org
Culver
Sports physicals — free physicals for students looking to participate in fall sports will be available at Culver Middle School on Aug. 14 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Pigskin Football Camp — Aug. 11-14, 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. at Culver High School football field; Open to those in fourth through eighth grade; learn basic skills of football (tackling, blocking, throwing, punting, kicking, etc.) in a camp run by current Bulldog players; Cost is $25 and includes water and Gatorade, prizes, T-shirts; email Shea Little with T-shirt size to attend at slittle@culver.k12.or.us; registration scheduled for Aug. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; have family health insurance information for registration
Football — practice begins Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. at the high school football field
