William Allen Wyse was born May 26, 1948 to Surrells and Louise Wyse in Bend, OR. He passed away at age 66 on July 20, 2014 in Gilchrist, OR.
Bill married his high school sweetheart July 27, 1968 in Gilchrist while home on leave from the U.S. Air Force. His favorite career was working at the power house for Crown Pacific. His next career was as a long haul truck driver in the 11 western states.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Roseburg, OR; their three children, Tony (and Kim) Wyse of La Pine, OR, Tanya (and Kyle) Baskins of Wynne, AR, Angela Wyse and Jim Smith of Redmond, OR; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sisters, Judith (and Marshall) Herron, and Linda (and Jim) Childre.
Bill will be remembered for enjoying people, sharing stories, being a great dancer, and loving to shoot guns and fireworks. The 4th of July fireworks were special times for our family, particularly at Diamond Lake. He really enjoyed the few days we stayed in Gilchrist. The All-Class Reunion for GHS was a highlight, and gave him a chance to talk with so many wonderful people from his past.
Friends and family are invited to his graveside services at the Applegate Pioneer Cemetery in Yoncalla, OR, 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 30. Please bring a folding chair for your comfort. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow at the Yoncalla Community Club.
