Reform myths

Unfortunately, many people speaking out against health care reform put myths before facts and use scare tactics and misinformation to convince Americans that health care reform is a bad thing. True, health care reform will let us keep what we have if we like it. It will give us the peace of mind to know that during tough economic times, or should we lose our job, we will always have quality, affordable health care.

Opponents have no intention of having a real conversation about meaningful health care reform. If you know the truth about those fighting this reform, you will learn that most are supported by large campaign contributions from the insurance industry — the very companies who stand to lose their exorbitant profits from reform.

It’s time to stop the lies and misinformation. There is no place for myths like these in a public debate on a public issue so critical to the health of our nation’s citizens.
