Leash laws for cats

Aren’t all domesticated animals in this city subject to leash laws? I’m not condoning shooting them, but I for one am tired of cats doing their business in my yard.

I am the only person on my block without a pet, and I step in cat feces whenever I go out into my personal space. Why does a cat get to kill wild birds? Because irresponsible pet owners let them. And rather than take the side of a defenseless bird, you hail the cat and give it tons of newsprint.

Irresponsible pet owners are rampant here in Bend, and I for one would support enforcement of leash laws no matter what species, because cats are not helpless little creatures — they are killers of wildlife, and wildlife is why I love this state.
