Dear park board and City Council — really?

The Bulletin reports on Dec. 17 that you want a new bond measure to fix Drake Park pond; also the park board wants to spend $2.5 million to purchase a new park (old Mt. Bachelor bus lot). Our city cannot financially support its core services (911 also will ask for renew bond), our citizens are out of work, and you want to use $2.5 million to start a new park project (campus, fitness center, etc.) and then ask for more money to support parks — really?

Use some of the $2.5 million to study the Drake Park pond issue. If the money is in a dedicated account for development and you need our vote to help you manage this, just ask.

When you think of a bond, think of the one you need to maintain with the citizens of Bend, really!
