Elvira was an accomplished opera singer and pianist. Her career included an RKO contract that involved performances in California, Oregon, Washington, Canada and throughout Europe. In addition to having a beautiful voice, she also accompanied herself on the piano as well as the accordion. Gastone Usigli, conductor, composer and well known maestro, in Italy, once said of Elvira, ”It is not often one hears a coloratura whos voice also has lyric dramatic quality. Her natural acting ability and dramatic feeling when she sings is a rare combination.”
Elvira was a very special and inspirational person. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
