Some airlines are preemptively canceling some of their Wednesday morning flights from Redmond Airport in anticipation of the storm that’s supposed to being at least 8 inches of snow to Bend and Redmond on Wednesday, according to Redmond Airport Manager Zachary Bass.
Because airlines make their decisions independent of airport management, Bass said the best option to determine the status of any given flight is to check with the airline.
Bass said some of the planes due to arrive late today will not be parked overnight in Redmond, but will instead turn around and return to the airport from which they came. As a result, the flights those planes would have flown Wednesday morning will be canceled.
Alaska Airlines’s 5 a.m. Wednesday flight from Redmond to Portland, for example, has been canceled, according to the Redmond Airport flight tracker. United Airlines’s 5:40 a.m. Wednesday flight to Denver has been delayed. Check individual airlines or flyrdm.com for flight details.
Bass said the terminal will be open and rental cars available.
