Longtime Bend guitar whiz Todd Haaby and his nuevo flamenco band Sola Via kick off a year of touring with a hometown performance at the Tower Theatre on Friday. For many years, Sola Via played the Tower around Christmastime, but Haaby and company will be in a celebratory mood for a different reason at this show: The performance marks the 10th anniversary of Sola Via’s self-titled debut album. According to a post on the band’s Facebook page, the show will be filmed in its entirety for release later this year. If you haven’t seen Haaby’s energetic take on flamenco, Latin jazz and Van Halen-style guitar heroics live yet, this would be your chance.
