Bend runner places in top 200 at Boston Marathon

Bend’s Stephanie Howe Violett finished 190th among all women at the Boston Marathon on Monday.
The 33-year-old finished the famous 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 6 minutes, 58 seconds, a pace of 7:08 per mile. According to race organizers, 13,698 women raced, putting Violett in the top 2 percent of finishers.
Thirteen Central Oregonians finished the Boston Marathon, down from 21 who finished the race in 2016.
