Bend freeskier Hunter Hess had a successful weekend in Colorado.
On Saturday he won the Revolution Tour halfpipe skiing contest at Copper Mountain.
Then, on Sunday at the Dew Tour in Breckenridge, he finished 18th in the halfpipe event. Later that day he teamed up with fellow U.S. skier Nick Goepper to win the Team Challenge, which featured athletes competing for their sponsors in multiple disciplines.
Competing for the Volkl team, Hess, 19, took part in the modified halfpipe (a regular halfpipe with rails on the top edge), and Goepper took part in slopestyle.
The Volkl team won with a total of 258.32 points, edging out second-place Armada (251). Atomic was third (248.32).
Highlights from the Dew Tour are scheduled to air at 11 a.m. Sunday on NBC.
