Shortly after midnight, Redmond Police responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into an occupied duplex in the 1900 block of NW Larch Spur Court, then fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a full-size truck with a flatbed.
The truck struck the rear of the building, cutting through the wall of the kitchen area on one side of the duplex and bedroom of the other, narrowly missing a 10-year-old child in bed at the time.
The driver was identified as Jory Markiss, 28, of Redmond. Markiss was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, among other charges. He was taken to Deschutes County Jail.
The second incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m., when officers responded to a similar report at Double J Saloon located at 528 SW Sixth St. The driver, Emma Walker, 22, of Redmond was arrested for alleged drunk driving after reportedly fleeing the vehicle that crashed into the saloon.
Walker was issued a criminal citation and released from Redmond Police Department.
