A 17-year-old Bend boy had taken ecstasy before he stabbed a girl and scuffled with arresting officers outside a McDonald’s on Northeast Third Street, according to a report by Bend Police.

At around 8 p.m. Sunday a 14-year-old girl called police to report being stabbed a few blocks away.

Responding officers say they found the 17-year-old boy in the drive-through area behaving “very erratically” and carrying a knife.

Police report that at first, they were able to calm the boy and convince him to drop the knife. But as officers were taking him into custody, he became combative and stopped listening to commands, according to the Bend Police incident report.

He was placed in a restraining device and transported to St. Charles Bend with unspecified injuries. He was then taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Department and detained on suspicion of second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

Officers say the boy was high on MDMA, or ecstasy, at the time of his arrest.

Bend Fire & Rescue transported the alleged stabbing victim to St. Charles Bend with non-life threatening injuries.
