Phillips

William and Carol (Schlenker) Phillips, of Bend, are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.

The couple were married Sept. 12, 1987, in Salem, Oregon. They have a daughter Allison (and Nick) Moe and one grandchild.

Mr. Phillips was a math teacher with the Bend-La Pine School District for eight years and then worked at the Oregon Department of Human Services until he retired in 2009. He enjoys woodworking projects and playing guitar. Every Christmas he performs at the local senior homes.

Mrs. Phillips worked as an elementary school teacher with Bend elementary schools until her retirement in 2010. She maintains close friendships with other retired teachers from the Bend-La Pine School District and frequently visits her granddaughter in Alaska.

They have lived in Central Oregon for 40 years.
