Tyson recalls more nuggets
Tyson Foods Inc. is recalling about 36,420 pounds of chicken nugget products that may be contaminated with “extraneous materials,” the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Wednesday.
The material is rubber.
Tyson’s nuggets were produced Nov. 26 and include 5-pound plastic packages of Tyson White Meat Panko Chicken Nuggets with a use-by date of Nov. 26, 2019.
The labels bear the case code 3308SDL03 and time stamps 23:00 through 01:59.
Tyson discovered the issue when a customer called in a complaint, according to the federal agency.
The company alerted the government Tuesday.
No injuries or illnesses have been reported, the agency said.
Ghosn says he’sa victim of rivals
Carlos Ghosn, the embattled auto executive indicted on charges of financial wrongdoing, said he was the victim of “plot and treason” by other Nissan leaders who wanted to thwart his plans to bring the automaker closer to its alliance partners, Renault of France and Mitsubishi Motors of Japan.
In his first interview since he was arrested Nov. 19, Ghosn blamed rivals at Nissan for misrepresenting facts to prosecutors and removing him as chairman of the company he helped rescue nearly two decades ago.
Alibaba earnings show cool market
Alibaba, China’s largest e-commerce business, said Wednesday its earnings growth fell last quarter.
Its revenue grew 41 percent, its slowest pace since early 2016, reflecting the size of the company and widening troubles in the Chinese economy, the world’s second largest.
Alibaba’s shares rose in premarket trading because it beat analysts’ estimates on adjusted earnings per share, posting growth of 15 percent.
