Survey: How have Bend’s population booms impacted you?
Published 10:51 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024
Bend has undergone a massive transformation in the past four decades. As more people flock to Central Oregon, Bend’s population is expected to grow to 156,000 in the next two decades.
This year, The Bulletin is launching a series that delves into the past and future of the city’s growth.
Reporters will explore how the city has addressed challenges and solutions amidst its continual growth, focusing on the environment, infrastructure, housing and economics. Which strategies have succeeded, and which ones have faltered? How have concerns changed over time, and what insights from the past can guide us in better preparing for the future?
We’re looking to connect with community members who can help shape our coverage. If you’re a Bend native, what part of growth have you embraced or resented? What’s your take on how local government and civic groups have addressed growth well or poorly? What do you want to know about how
If you have lived in Bend your whole life, or for more than two decades, we’d love to hear about your experiences in this growing community. Share your experiences and thoughts about growth in this survey. Your responses will inform our reporting in this upcoming series.
