Project details: Emma Rose, marketing manager for CS Construction, wrote in an email that the apartment complex in Bend’s Southern Crossing neighborhood will have 202 residential units. The building also has a designated restaurant space and coffee shop on its ground floor. Construction is expected to be complete June 1.

“Noteworthy features that distinguish The Current from other projects include a top-floor amenity area with a spacious covered outdoor spa, townhouses accessible from the ground level spanning two stories, underground storm water retention tanks, ‘tuck-under’ parking spaces, and a striking two-story tall living plant wall,” Rose wrote.

Amenity spaces on the ground floor include an all-wash area for pets and hobby equipment, a bike and ski storage area, and a gym.

The building’s design has two levels of post-tension concrete decks on one side and one level on the other. It’s divided into two sections through a seismic isolating joint down the center.

CS Construction has built over 50 buildings in Central Oregon. Projects include Bend High School, 10 Barrel Brewing’s Eastside Pub, Westside Village and Newport Lofts — Spork and Cuppa Yo Frozen Yogurt Westside’s building. CS was not prepared to share the project cost and unit pricing at the time of publication. Construction began in February 2021.
