- The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team found fentanyl pills, cash and an illegal firearm during a vehicle and residence search of a La Pine couple Wednesday.
A long-term investigation into fentanyl distribution ended Wednesday morning with the arrest of a La Pine couple.
Armando Nieves-Cintora, 37, and Jessica Grace Lee, 30, were arrested during a traffic stop in the area of Burgess Road and Arctic Drive in La Pine on suspicion of unlawful possession of a schedule II-controlled substance, unlawful delivery/manufacturing of a schedule II-controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a short-barreled rifle, according to a news release.
Charges filed Thursday in Deschutes County Circuit Court allege unlawful delivery and manufacture of fentanyl, and possession of a firearm.
Detectives with Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team, a multiagency drug task force, found a baggie of fentanyl pills in a hidden compartment of Nieves-Cintora’s Subaru BRZ.
A police dog, Sadie, alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, according to the release.
During a search of the couple’s residence in La Pine, agents found fentanyl pills, packaging material, a scale, cash, a rifle and a sawed-off shotgun.
Nieves-Cintora and Lee were both transported and lodged at the Deschutes County jail.
