A private jet with six people on board slid off the runway Tuesday morning as it attempted to land at the Bend Municipal Airport.
None of the occupants in the Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 300 were injured and the plane does not appear damaged, according to Airport Manager Gary Judd.
The incident occurred at 7:50 a.m. on the north end of the airport. Judd said it was a slow-speed skid at the end of the 5,000-foot runway and the plane went about 10 yards off the runway into a dirt bank.
The airport is planning to have a crane lift the plane out of the bank, Judd said.
“It looks worse than it is,” Judd said. “It’s sitting there with one wing in the air.”
The cause appears to be icy conditions, but Judd said the National Transportation Safety Board is sending an investigator to determine an exact cause.
The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating the incident.
The fixed-wing plane is owned by a private jet company, Flight Options LLC, out of Cleveland, Ohio, according an FAA registry database.
