Steve Miller and Peter Frampton will show you the way (or make you feel like they do — or both, actually) at Les Schwab Amphitheater on Friday. The two classic rockers, who launched their careers and met each other in the 1960s, hit the road together this summer for a tour that will stretch through the middle of August. Per the Joker himself, in a statement on the Steve Miller Band’s website: “Peter and I first met at Olympic studios in London in the late sixties when we were both just starting our recording careers. He was a wonderful guitarist and songwriter then and he is even more so today.” Frampton has been on an acoustic singer-songwriter kick lately, as evidenced by his 2016 album “Acoustic Sessions” and recent single (and true story) “I Saved a Bird Today.” Miller, who played Les Schwab last summer, made headlines for his induction (and acerbic reaction to said induction) into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. But it’s the classics you’re probably looking for, and these consummate professionals are sure to deliver.
Steve Miller Band with Peter Frampton: 6 p.m. Friday, doors open at 5 p.m.; $65 to $139 plus fees; Les Schwab Amphitheater, 344 SW Shevlin Hixon Drive, Bend; bendconcerts.com or 541-312-8510.
