Richard’s Donuts & Pastries boasts the “best and biggest donut in Bend, Oregon” on its Facebook page. Readers agree, voting the longtime south-side bakery No. 1 for a doughnut fix in Bend. The shop offers basic cake doughnuts starting at 99 cents, with popular varieties including maple bars, apple fritters and cream-filled chocolate doughnuts. The Dough Nut

The Dough Nut (thedoughnutoregon.com), which offers doughnuts made from scratch (and vegan friendly, to boot), came in second in the survey. Opened in 2012, The Dough Nut has two locations in town — Greenwood Avenue and Galveston Avenue — where it serves its original recipes, including seasonal items and doughnut breakfast sandwiches.

Sweetheart Donuts

Rounding out the top three, Sweetheart Donuts (sweetheartdonuts.com), owned by Danielle Levine and located on Third Street, stands apart with its drive-thru window and specialty items including fried pies, fritters and The Bigfoot.
