Southern California quartet Common Kings clearly owes a thing or two to classic reggae artists such as Bob Marley. The band would also fit in well with any number of laid-back, feel-good modern pop acts on the radio today. But deeper listens to the band’s debut album “Lost in Paradise,” released in February, reveals some serious music-nerd cred, with influences as varied as Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin and Jim Croce cropping up all over the record’s 12 songs. These musical omnivores have been playing around the world since the beginning of the decade, even landing an opening spot on Justin Timberlake’s Australian tour in 2015. The group returns to Bend for a performance at the Domino Room on Tuesday, with fellow modern reggae artists Mayday and Makua Rothman opening.
Common Kings, with Mayday, Makua Rothman: 7 p.m. Tuesday; $15 plus fees in advance, $18 at the door; Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; redlightpro.com or 541-408-4329.
