Though “ugly” and “sloppy,” as Summit coach Jon Frazier labeled it, the Storm, for the second straight season, were champions of the Summit Division at the Les Schwab Oregon Holiday Hoopfest.
Jack Hurley scored 15 points and added five assists and three steals as Summit held off Vashon Island (Washington) for a 53-46 boys basketball win Wednesday at Summit High.
“We preach the idea that we want to build the habit of winning,” Frazier said. “For us to go into a three-day tournament and come out as champions, it’s a good step in the right direction to continue that winning mentality.”
Chris Mason had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Storm (6-1), who picked up their sixth straight win, while Kyle Cornett added eight points.
