Minneapolis rapper Carnage the Executioner, born Terrell Woods, gained attention on the Twin Cities scene thanks in part to his work with artists such as Eyedea & Abilities and Atmosphere. He’s also amassed an impressive solo discography since the mid-2000s, most recently releasing the live set “Attack of the Show Stealer” earlier this year. That live show is where the prolific MC, beatboxer and music educator shines — and it truly needs to be seen to be believed. Using effects boxes and looping devices more typically associated with singer-songwriters, Carnage creates challenging soundscapes on the fly to freestyle over, drawing from his albums and a lifelong obsession with music of all genres. If you missed his set at The Capitol last year, you’re in luck: He will return to the venue for a free show Monday.
Carnage the Executioner, with Sammy Worm Hands, Galaxe, Check 1: 9 p.m. Monday; free; ages 21 and older; The Capitol, 190 NW Oregon Ave., Bend; thecapitolbend.com or 541-678-5740.
