Two dead after crash on Juniper Canyon Road in Crook County

Two people died in Crook County on Monday after a two-vehicle crash on Juniper Canyon Road near SE Paulina Highway, the Crook County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Tuesday.

When deputies arrived around 4:30 p.m., they found one vehicle in flames, and the other burning from the engine compartment, the release said. The drivers of both of the vehicles were taken to St. Charles Prineville by Crook County Fire & Rescue, and two people were found dead at the scene of the crash. 

The crash closed Juniper Canyon Road for six hours, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing, the release added.
