Deschutes County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 15-year-old boy  assault near Pine Nursery Park in Bend on Thursday after making a traffic stop.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested for an alleged assault near Pine Nursery Park in Bend on Thursday.

Deputies responded to the park at around 7:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery, according to a news release from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

An unidentified 50-year-old man from Bend told deputies he was dropping off a family member at the park when he saw several drivers making doughnuts with their vehicles nearby. He told deputies that a man approached him, threatened him and wanted to start a fight.

The Bend man refused to fight, and was then allegedly assaulted by one person while being held by another, the release said. He also tried to use a multitool to defend himself before he eventually broke free.

Deputies located a teenage suspect during a traffic stop at Hamby and Neff roads. The teen was booked at the Deschutes County Resource Center on suspicion of third-degree assault.

Police are still trying to find a second 15-year-old boy who is a suspect in the incident.
