Five Bend-La Pine school board seats up for grabs in May, filing window opens Feb. 8

Five Bend-La Pine School Board seats are open in the May 20 special district election, and the school district will have an information session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the district education center.

The candidate filing window opens Feb. 8 and closes March 20.

Those interested in serving are invited to join the session, where Superintendent Steve Cook and Board Clerk Janet Bojanowski will share the responsibilities and time commitment required of a school board member. 

The seats open in the May election are for Zones 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7. Candidates must be registered to vote in Deschutes County, have lived within a Deschutes County voting precinct for at least one year and live within Bend-La Pine Schools’ attendance area.
