Start the new year off with raging guitars, blastbeats and anguished vocals about existential anger courtesy of Salem death metal quartet Abiosis, which will perform an album release show at Third Street Pub on Saturday in support of its debut, “Revelations Of Macabre.” The record, a concept album released last year that aims a critical eye at organized religion, is the culmination of nearly six years of thrashing and bashing from the group, which features Central Oregon metal mainstay drummer Brandon Self (son of Mike Self of Coma Booking & Promotions and also a member of Unto the Plague, Gravewitch and many other heavy outfits). Speaking of Gravewitch, they’ll be at the party too, along with Damage Overdose, Foes, Blood and Thunder, Open Defiance and Corvus.

Happy (and heavy) new year.

Abiosis, with Damage Overdose, Gravewitch, Foes, Blood and Thunder, Open Defiance, Corvus: 7 p.m. Saturday; $7 at the door; ages 21 and older; Third Street Pub, 314 SE Third St., Bend; bit.ly/bbabiosis or 541-306-3017.
