Hollister looking to fill in for Seattle

The Seattle Seahawks are expected to be without star tight end Will Dissly for the rest of the 2019 season after he hurt his Achilles on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, according to multiple reports.

The injury left the Seahawks with only two tight ends on the roster, Luke Willson and Jacob Hollister — the tight end from Bend who had just been promoted from the practice squad on Friday.

Hollister, 25, was with the team during training camp and played in all four of Seattle’s preseason games. The former Mountain View High School star made catches in two of those games and had a total of four receptions for 28 yards with one touchdown during the preseason.

Hollister was acquired by the Seahawks in April in a trade with the New England Patriots, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Wyoming in 2017. In two seasons with New England, Hollister played in 23 regular-season games, made two starts and had eight catches for 94 yards. The Patriots placed him on injured reserve before the 2018 postseason this past January.

The Seahawks are going to need additional help at tight end with the likes of Hollister, but veteran tight end Ed Dickson is expected to return from the injured reserve after week eight.
