Food with spirit — The Moose Sisters restaurant opened quietly late last month above Rue 21 in the Cascade Village Shopping Center on Bend’s north side. A creative and moderately priced menu, featuring seafood and wild game, extends to weekend brunch. The owners formerly operated the Rustic Moose in Sun Valley, Idaho. Beard time — Chef Joe Kim of 5 Fusion & Sushi Bar will cook at the James Beard House in New York on Sept. 22. Kim, a three-time “Best Chef, Northwest” semifinalist, will serve a menu with Dungeness crab hot dogs, lobster sashimi and 2 Sisters Ranch wagyu beef.
