The city of Bend is inviting the public to a meeting Thursday to learn more about construction of a roundabout at Murphy and Parrell roads and work on the sewer system.

The meeting is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. at Jewell Elementary School, 20550 Murphy Road.

Construction is expected to start this month and last until the fall. Once construction of a large sewer collection pipe, primarily located underneath Murphy Road, and relocation of utility lines is finished, the roundabout will be built, according to a news release from the city.

During the construction period, the intersection will be closed and traffic detoured.

At the open house, city representatives are scheduled to offer details of the project, including what may be expected during construction and how the intersection will be impacted.
